Let me start by saying I started reading this book as soon as I got it in the mail and I finished reading it by the end of the night. It literally had me laughing and crying. I got really pulled in to all of the characters because they were so well developed.
I really enjoyed both Kate and Matt. I liked that Kate wasn’t just your typical pretty girl. She was quirky and beautiful in her own way and she liked antiquing. I don’t usually like the characters of jocks because of their egos. However, Matt’s character wasn’t about the ego; it was about his pain and loss and trusting God. I loved the dynamic between the two of them and how Becky Wade showed us their true emotions, both the good and the bad. I feel that both Kate and Matt learned a lot about God’s timing and following God’s will.
I also really liked Kate’s grandmother and all of her senior friends. I felt that they added to the book and made it much funnier to read. Plus I liked that Kate and Matt genuinely enjoyed spending time with them. I ended up liking this book way more than I thought I would and I am looking forward to any future books by Becky Wade.
I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review.
